At the heart of everything we do is the foundation that we were hopelessly in need of a rescue. With one act of love from our Saviour, Jesus, the King of Kings, announced His royal entry on earth in the cries of a baby. He taught how the Scriptures revealed God and His message to His people. Jesus' examples showed power, grace, empathy, authority, love, and holiness. For our sake, because of our sin, He was falsely accused, beaten, and condemned to death in the worst way possible in the Roman world - a cross. All hope was lost. Then on the third day something happened. He overcame death, and thereby He overcame the consequence of sin. Not just all sin, but our sin. Yours and mine. So that when we follow Him, identify with Him, become His disciples and make Him Lord of our life, we find that He gives us a new life. The old us is gone forever, crucified. The new has come. One day Jesus ascended to heaven, but before He did He promised His Spirit would come upon those who put their faith and their life in Him. The Holy Spirit guides us, leads us into worship, keeps us from temptation, and brings us into closer fellowship with our great God. It helps us live as those set-apart by God to live a free and full life. It's powerful, grace-filled, joyful, and loving. Jesus promised He would come back. And those who follow Him have the assurance of a heavenly eternity, living in the presence and praise of our Heavenly Father.
